About Jenna

Founders who know what they want to say but haven’t yet pinned down their voice, or the campaigns that will carry it, often stall between growth and settled. Jenna fixes that, defining the brand voice, deciding which campaigns the business actually needs, and putting in place the marketing calendars and structures that make rollouts easy.

She’s a Fractional CMO based in Cape Town with 20+ years of experience across South Africa, the UK and the US, working with startups, established eCommerce players and corporates in retail, FMCG, skincare, fashion, homeware, DIY, health and publishing. Her core expertise spans eCommerce marketing, partnership building and management, marketing strategy, team building and mentoring, and project management. She’s led teams, managed substantial marketing budgets, and reported on performance to Executive Committees and Boards, combining strategic brand thinking with hands-on execution across brand, events, sales enablement, partnerships and digital channels. She’s spoken at eCommerce Africa Conference in 2022 and 2023, and at eCommerce Live in 2023.

At kalahari.com, now Takealot, she introduced Google Analytics to track paid traffic sources and revenue accurately, which gave the business a proper data basis for campaign decisions. She also led the team behind South Africa’s first real-life Pass-the-Parcel on Twitter, delivering washing machines, braais and books by flatbed truck, and the campaign trended in SA for the day. Organic traffic grew 26% year on year. At Loot, she launched partnerships and partnership promotions that benefited both brands, working with Pargo, Mobicred, PayFast, Discovery, MySchool and Momentum.

Jenna builds people up before working toward shared goals, and she’ll play devil’s advocate to make sure a campaign is hitting the right mark. She works best with founders who have realistic expectations and a clear sense of what they want.
